Local procurement checklist
The Local Procurement Checklist supports mining and exploration companies in implementing effective strategies to support Indigenous-owned businesses. It also provides guidance to local and Indigenous entrepreneurs so they can better harness procurement opportunities and benefit from mining activity around their communities.
From 2021 to 2023, the CMMP Secretariat worked with Mining Shared Value, a non-profit initiative of Engineers Without Borders Canada, to develop the checklist with guidance from Mokwateh, an Indigenous consulting firm.
